A Test Run - It's been a while. . . .

We are one month into 2025 - so wild to think I blinked and missed the entirety of January (until the 26th of course). Things have not been the most fabulous in the past few weeks, just chaos everywhere I turn, so I decided to make a mark this year and start doing something to track progresses, since the past ... how ever long it's been, I can't see/feel any progress made, and feel like I'm stuck in the same repeating cycles of joblessness, hopelessness, loneliness, and the like....

Not another heckin diary!!

Woah, no, no, no - this is not a diary of deep, dark, unprocessed trauma, and thoughts that need psychiatric analysis hold your horses, cowboy! But in saying that, it will be my corner of the internet where I can share wins, and undoubtably losses, hits and misses and what ever else the cool kids call it these days, so I can look back and revel in the achievements of yonder, and materialise what I have done, (or not done) in the year of 2025. Happy Lunar New Year, yeah! I'll go with that, New Lunar Year, New Me....

This is just a test post, so I can visualise the remainder of the year, will I blog daily, or weekly? Will I post photos, or just type nonsensical sentences? Maybe a mixture of both? I think I'm supposed to add pictures, or something to break up the monotony .. okay maybe we add a cute quote:

I think that's a brilliant quote for this purpose - it's the small efforts that go unrecognised, and unappreciated that build up to the turning points in ones life. I wish I had someone to teach me that sooner, but better late than never as they say.

New Beginnings

I really enjoying writing, hence the desire to begin my blog (for the 100 millionth time) - this time, although I'm not loving the name (The Daily Mish), it's a bit misleading as I don't really commit to things on a daily, but it's a start, and as they say starting is the hardest. If I decide to change or update at least this post will be here as a reminder of where we started from, and to be honest it wasn't that hard.. This post was created in less than an hour, but this is most likely because it's a stream of consciousness rather than a deeply investigated piece of journalism, but we'll get there..

That's all for today, it's mid day on a Friday, and although I should be looking for a job right now, the thought of doing so absolutely shrivels my insides.. but we must have income... adulting, no one prepares you for the royally fuckery it is.. that's a whole nother post me thinks.

Okay, it's been a good day. We'll see what the weekend has to offer. . Happy Friday, and yes the Lunar New Year did start on the 29th of January this year, but what do we call a fresh start in February? That's what I'm going for.

2025 - Year of the Wood Snake.

This is supposed to be the year of shedding bad energies, transformation and new beginnings so the perfect year to start something new. The snake with it's ability to shed it's skin provides a metaphorical meaning to this year as well. This is the year where it is absolutely possible to experience growth on a new level, by letting go of the ego, toxic personality traits, lost love, and heavy emotions like anger to slither into the next adventure refreshed, and renewed. That sounds like a great anti aging ad.

People born in the year of the snake are thought to "do what ever it takes to accomplish a goal" with resilience, love, endurance and intelligence. They can think outside the box and have the innate potential to be successful.

Those sound like the perfect keywords for a new beginning, when things are extremely scary, but stepping out of the comfort zone that is my life, we need these keywords to keep us going, and knowing the lunar new year is supporting this transformation will hopefully give some grace to those starting a new.

Well this is going to be an interesting, written adventure - can't wait to see what the year gives us, and how much I do push and challenge myself. To new beginnings, and hopefully a job soon, because I seriously can not be unemployed for much longer... I need the money, honey.

Do I need to create a signature for this?? We'll see . this one is done.

(yes a signature is needed for here... blank space)

xx

The Goals of Champions...

Okay maybe not champions, but I figure I should probably get some goals on paper, that's usually how these things go right?  Why set goals?  When I google "Goal Setting" - the AI spit's this out: "Goal setting is the process of creating a plan to achieve a desired outcome. It involves defining specific objectives, tracking progress, and taking action to reach those objectives."  So in order to start the journey, we need to know where the (initial) destination is, and be honest with ourselves on where we are currently. There's no point setting a goal of losing 10 kilos, if you're not willing to weigh yourself, or clean up your finances if you never check your bank account. The purpose of goals is to give help us focus on what's important and what you want to achieve, give you direction so when you're feeling lost or unmotivated you know what step to take next, and give you accountability to track your progress and see just how far you've ...
